Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge: September 17th-25th (#MACleanAir)

#MACleanAir

The MA Clean Air Challenge (formerly Car Free Week) is back for another week of prizes, events and promotions in celebration of clean air commuting- that is, transportation choices that reduce harmful emissions and clear the air for everyone. This year, we are posing the Challenge with one simple question:

What can you do to reduce CO2??

Take a look at your daily commute and think about how you can make it a clean air commute. Find a carpool, hop in a vanpool, walk, bike or take transit even just once just once during the Challenge, and you will not only slash your daily CO2 output (average commuter emits 230 cubic feet of carbon dioxide each day), you will qualify to win daily prizes! Simply log your trips in NuRide (the state's travel options database where you can also find carpool buddies & plan your trips) and you'll be eligible to win one of seven daily $100 Amazon gift cards. We'll also be raffling off daily prizes on social media, hashtagging #MACleanAir on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (Like the MACAC on Facebook!)

Take the Challenge:

Every day, we'll celebrate a different clean air commute choice and reward those who choose and log it in NuRideone $100 Amazon card each day, plus three $20 Dunkin Donuts cards daily on social media

Here's how to win:

  • Monday: Double up/Carry more (Carpool or Vanpool)
  • Tuesday: Right on Track (Transit)
  • Wednesday: Best Foot Forward (Walk)
  • Thursday: Stay Put (Telecommute)
  • Friday: Pedal On (Bikers)
  • Weekend: Wildcard --> any clean air commute trip wins!

Get to know NuRide if you don't already, and find out how you can create a #MACleanAir commute every day of the week and win! All you have to qualify for the daily $100 is log your trip. Questions? masscommute@masscommute.com

The Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge is a collaboration between MassCommute, MassRIDES and MassDOT and sprouted from World Car Free Day, which occurs on September 22nd. In addition to that celebration, international PARK(ing) Day kicks off the event on September 16th. Make sure to check back and follow #MACleanAir for more details as the event approaches!
