9/20-9/27: Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge 2015

Be seen commuting green! #MACleanAir 9/20-9/27

Every September, MassCommute partners with MassDOT and MassRIDES to host a week of friendly competition & promotions amongst Bay State commuters in celebration of clean air commuting. Take as many trips as possible by bike, foot, transit, carpool or vanpool (or??) and you're in the game to win!

This year, we will be raffling off $100 each day to a randomly selected participant in NuRide, the state's official ridematching & commuter rewards database. The more trips you track in NuRide, the more likely you are to win.

Participating in the Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge is FREE, and it's easy:

  1. Register in NuRide , the Commonwealth’s ridematching and commuter rewards system (if you’re already registered, skip this step!).
  2. Take as many green trips (carpool, vanpool, bicycle, walk, transit, telecommute) as you can between September 20th-27th and record each in NuRide using the trip calendar.
  3. Win $100/day for contributing to cleaner air during #MACleanAir. Plus, after the challenge is over, keep tracking your green trips in NuRide to earn points at restaurants, retailers and attractions

Traffic has a profound effect on economic development, workforce attraction and retention - and quality of life.

Please join MassCommute together with MAPC (Metropolitan Area Planning Council) for a free breakfast forum about how cities, towns, and employers can work together to reduce traffic, enhance prosperity, improve environmental quality, and provide better transportation options for employees and residents.

MassCommute and MAPC will present the findings from two recent research papers (links below) and then convene a panel discussion of business and municipal stakeholders who have successfully created partnerships to implement Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs.

The forum will also feature Massachusetts Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack speaking about the state's role in supporting local transportation options. We look forward to seeing you!
